"IT'S JUST AROUND THE CORNER"

PIONEER GROUP

TWENTY'S GROUP

FIFTY'S GROUP

HIP HOP GROUP

"ARISE, The 2010 Youth Spectacular" to be performed July 16-17th will not only be the largest endeavor the "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints" does in the United States during 2010, it will also be the largest function Weber State University has hosted thus far. In preparation we had a photo shoot last week for some publicity banners. They will be draped on the front wall of the sky box building on the west side of the Stewart Stadium. One of the figures will stand 19 feet tall. Check out the shoot that they are using.

The enthusiasm of the youth has been unbelievable. The long hours of rehearsal in the hot sun have represented some of the trails our pioneers had to endure.....well sorta. It doesn't look like these pioneers mind.
Of course the guys were not excited in the beginning about dancing, makeup and girls.....are you kidding me, they love it.

With Only Faith the size of a Mustard Seed......

All week prior to our May 22nd "10" stake rehearsal the weather forecast reported rain, wind, possible snow flurries and 54 degrees. The many e-mails questioned going through with the rehearsal. With Elder Carl Cook coming to give a pep talk to the youth we decided that not even the weather could keep us away. We offered prayers for sun........the pictures tell the story. Five minutes before Elder Cook was to speak the clouds parted and the sun shined down on our rehearsal. Thank you Father in Heaven, you strengthened testimonies that day for shinning on us. And "THANK YOU" Elder Cook.

“SOMEONE HAS BEEN LISTENING TO THE SPIRIT”

Day of Celebration 038 Karl and I attended a Bow Wow last Wednesday night with Brother Jerry Nelson, Brother Jim Alvey, Brother and Sister Filding of the North Council, Brother and Sister Stephens, finale, Brother and Sister Lofgreen of the South Council, Brother and Sister Harrop doing the logistics, as well as Brother Derek Furch.

Brother Furch was the Artistic Director of the Oquirrh Mountain Temple production that was held in 2009. The production was held two nights and involved 14,000 youth in two separate scripts. He offered many ideas that worked well for them. One idea that he felt strongly about was that from a desistance the performance made a defiant impact on the audience when there was synchronized movement and especially large amounts of color. Tonight as I opened my e-mail I found pictures from the “Hip Hop Group.” Do you think they heard about our meeting……..or maybe just totally inspired. Way to go guys!!!!!!!!!!Day of Celebration 019 Day of Celebration
